Victorian kitchens

In the past the family cooked on the range heated by a coal fire. Food was kept in a cold room called the larder. Clothes were washed in the sink and then put through a mangle to squeeze the water out.

Today, the family use an electric oven to cook and a fridge to keep food cold. Clothes can be washed and dried in a washing machine.
